How To Apply Patches

IRON

  1. You'll need an iron, ironing board, your patch, and a clean pillowcase or tea towel.
  2. Ensure the fabric item you're applying the patch to is clean, wrinkle-free, and dry.
  3. The iron should be in the correct setting to match the type of material you're ironing. The appropriate heat level should be over 400 Fahrenheit high-heat.
  4. Preheat: once heated up, press the iron onto the area where you plan to place your patch for about 10 seconds to warm up the area.
  5. Then place your patch on the just heated area, cover the patch with your pillowcase or tea towel, and move the iron over the area in a slow circular motion for about 100 seconds for Chenille, 90 seconds for embroidery.
  6. Carefully turn your fabric item inside out, place the pillowcase or tea towel between your inside-out item and the iron again, and move the iron over the area in a slow circular motion for another 60 seconds for Chenille, 50 seconds for embroidery.

HEAT PRESS

  1. You'll need a heat press and your patch.
  2. Ensure the fabric item you're applying the patch to is clean, wrinkle-free, and dry.
  3. The appropriate heat level should be around 350 Fahrenheit high-heat.
  4. Preheat: once heated up, press them onto the area where you plan to place your patch for about 10 seconds to warm up the area.
  5. Then place your patch on the just heated area,
